Professional Development Program

Bronx evmergency veterinary clinic. Morris Park veterinarian. Our Professional Development Program is tailor-made, focusing on the needs of each individual Veterinarian to help evolve their specialty. We design each program based on the Doctor’s level of proficiency in the different areas of veterinary medicine as well as on their interests. We focus on the areas that need the most attention. Our goal is to help all our Doctors, including seasoned Veterinarians, grow professionally. Our Management Team strives to provide solutions and applicable tools for Doctors’ everyday necessities.

Every week, we have case discussions where Veterinarians share their best practices, ask questions, and find answers to the most challenging situations. We have an open dialogue covering every aspect of our medicine because we understand how important high-quality service is. All Veterinarians are encouraged to collaborate with their colleagues and improve their methods and approaches.

Every month, we host an in-house training with guest speakers that covers themes which are found to be the most prevalent in day-to-day services: from drug usage to diagnostics. Our Doctors request what they want to learn and we deliver.

Mentorship Program for New Graduates

Bronx Veterinary Clinic StaffOur Mentorship Program is a dialogue in which we share our intentions, plans, and goals with a new hire. We help new hired Veterinarians improve their confidence in any veterinary focus by providing exclusive support on site. Our primary objective is to help new hires fulfill their full potential with Animal Hospital of Morris Park and make them feel as a part of our team in the shortest time frame.

Our Mentorship Program includes two phases:

Phase One

We provide doctors with a comprehensive tour of the hospital and get them familiarized with the space, staff, regulations, and flow of our company. Based on our experience, this helps new hires become familiar with their surroundings; making them feel comfortable with their job environment, tasks, and company policies fast. We want all our new hires to quickly get in the mindset of becoming a productive member of our team.

Phase Two

The 2nd phase of the Mentorship Program is related to Professional Development. We encourage every veterinary professional to develop their own specialty within the field based on their specific interests.

The Professional Development Mentorship is designed as a day-to-day process focused on improving new hires’ diagnostic skills and bringing them to the utmost professional level. All recent graduates, as well as beginning doctors, are welcome to shadow our seasoned veterinarians. If a new hire is interested in doing surgeries, new veterinarians are encouraged to scrub in with our expert surgeon, where the experienced doctor assists the new doctor.

Since many doctors work here, should a new hire have uncertainties, case discussion and consultation between veterinarians are the norm and encouraged. We use an internal Ultrasound  specialist and urge the use of Lab and X-Ray consultations for difficult cases.
